Past Presidents Cup Matches - Winners
Bickerstaff Cup - Silvermine
Endicott, Tri-State and Eaton Cup at Madison CC October 11-13
Congratulations to Debbie Johnson, Oronoque CC, who won this year's Endicott tournament. Debbie was the only player in the field under 80 both days and won by 1 stroke over Natalie Galligan from Massachusetts. Massachusetts won both the Tri-State (gross) and Eaton Cup (net) matches on the third day of competition. The full 2-day stroke play results can be seen here - select Round 2. Presidents' Cup at Farmington Woods - September 19th
Congratulations to the 2022 Presidents' Cup Champions (Net Best Ball of two). Suzanne Harris and Ann Malone had a two-ball net total of 68.
Stableford at Litchfield - August 23
Sincere thanks to Litchfield Club Representative Louisa Roraback and Isaac Gatewood, Club Pro for hosting and providing a beautiful venue for our tournament. Special thanks to Mother Nature, for holding off the rain until after golf and even after lunch on the rear deck with a spectacular view.
Seniors Championship at Silvermine - August 10-11
Lisa Fern-Boros defeated Jo Rasmussen in a playoff to win the 2022 Seniors Championship. Jackie Cahill finished three strokes back in third place and was the Low Net winner. (Results link below)
Legends Championship at Silvermine - August 11
Donna Harris is the 2022 Legends Champions, besting Marge Funk in a playoff. Mary Jo Weiss was the Low Net winner. (Results link below)
Juniors Championship at Silvermine - August 10-11
The Junior field was strong this year, thanks to our Junior Chairs, Cindy Ahern and Lauren Rosenfeld. Laniah Moffett was the Juniors winner with a two-day total of 153. Second place was earned by Elizabeth Dunn, with a two-day total of 161, and third place went to Sofia Ghorbel, shooting a 163!
CWGA vs SNEWGA Team Matches at Stanley GC - August 3rd
The SNEWGA team prevailed, 93.5-86.5, on a hot, sunny day at Stanley Golf Course. 20 players competed for CWGA in this net better-ball format.
CT Tournament of Champions at Hartford GC - July 27th
Congratulations to Mercedese Large, Wampanoag CC, for winning the CT TOC with a 73. Debbie Johnson was second, 3 strokes back, while Darlene Tranquilli and Nicole Elliott both had 77s. Laura Nietch was the winner of the Marcia Dolan flight (low-net). This event, sponsored by CWGA, SNEWGA, CSGA, and GOLFTEC West Hartford, was held once again after a break of several years. 67 players competed, the largest field for this event in quite a while.
Summer Special at Lake of Isles - July 26th
It was a beautiful day at Lake of Isles, complete with lower humidity, rolling fairways, delicious food and great camaraderie! Thank you to Deb Kohl-Benharris and the team at Lake of Isles. Adding to the great golf shots, Jenny Mortel scored an ace on the Par 3, Hole 11, island green! Congratulations Jenny!
Medallion at Avon - July 12th
Congratulations to the winning team of the Medallion - Patti Cheyne and Jill Tyron of Hartford Golf Club! A sincere thank you to Linda Jainchill, our Avon Club Rep, and Steve Madison, Golf Professional, for providing us with a wonderful day. The rolling hills, long fescue, and delicious lunch all contributed to a fun and successful Medallion tournament.
CWGA Championship at Black Hall - June 27-30
Congratulations to Leslie Li (Tumble Brook CC), the winner of the 2022 CWGA Championship. She defeated Jean Sennett (Wampanoag CC) in the final on Thursday, June 30th. Congratulations also to Ann Newman (Wampanoag CC), who defeated Hollis Barry (Old Lyme CC) in the Founders Cup final. Mercedese Large (Wampanoag CC) was the medalist in the qualifying round held on Monday, June 27th.
Congratulations also to this year's other semi-finalists: Cheryl Ziebka (Farmington) and Lisa Sencen (Black Hall) in the Championship flight, and Amie Mitchell (Hop Meadow) and Beth Rodgers (Black Hall) in the Founders Cup.

Solheim Cup at Highfield - June 13th
A special thanks to Mel Larkin once again for the incredible table decorations we enjoyed at lunch after the first 18 holes of the competition. They inspired the Red Team to hold on to their slim lead in the third set of matches and prevail with 122.5 points over the Blue Team with 120.5 points. CWGA was victorious at the 2022 CT vs RI Team Matches at Country Club of Farmington on June 3rd. The final tally was 251 to 235. Match results can be seen here.
PME Fundraiser Better Ball Play at Your Own Club - May 21-26
