Wait List Policy: For our tournaments where the format requires a foursome, such as the Opening Mixer and Summer Special listed above, when we get near the close of registration we will begin to wait list applicants once the total number of entries in the field is a multiple of four, and those on the wait list will be added to the field prior to entry deadline in groups of four, in order of entry date. Registration will continue to be open until the registration deadline and we will make every effort to get all who sign up into the tournament, however for these tournaments we do need to have complete foursomes.

Annual Reps Meeting May 18th at Pine Orchard

All Club Reps are requested to attend or send a substitute. And bring a guest! (Note that all club reps have already been invited to this meeting by email.)

Our guest speaker is Daniela "Crash" Lendl. She is currently the director of Women's Golf and Member Services at CSGA in Rocky Hill. Daniela was a 4 year member of the University of Alabama Women's Golf Team.

Meeting/ Working Lunch starts at 11:00. there is an optional 9 Hole Tournament prior to the meeting. Shotgun starts at 9:00 am, registration at 8:00 am.

New Tournament Format

We have added a new tournament format to our schedule: a Stableford at Ridgewood Country Club on August 9th. Stableford is a scoring system where rather than counting the total number of strokes taken, as in stroke play, it involves scoring based on the number of strokes vs. par on each hole. Unlike traditional scoring methods, where the aim is to have the lowest score, under Stableford rules, the objective is to have the highest score. More information to follow.

Website Update

The Tournament Calendar has been moved to its own page, the first one shown under the Tournaments tab, and is no linger on the main Tournament page. If you use a tablet to view the website you need to tap an item on the main menu ribbon twice to view content on that page, so many viewers didn't realize there was content on these pages. Click on a tournament on this calendar page to see information about the tournament, pairings and results when available, as well as links to register.

We've also added an "Invitational and Charity Tournaments" tab under Tournaments to make it easier for you to find information about these events. Currently these events are shown in two different formats -- a simple listing or one with more information shown initially. Email to let us know which format you prefer. Currently there are 5 events that you are invited to play in listed in the calendar.

Rule of the Month

Sand and loose soil are loose impediments (removable) ONLY on the green.

If your ball is on the apron--avoid a two stroke penalty and "please" don't remove sand or loose soil on your line of play that is also on the apron. You can remove sand and loose soil on the green even if your ball is not on the green.

A quote for all who love the game of golf from Bob Ryan--

"A passion, an obsession, a romance, a nice acquaintanceship with trees, sand and water."
