CWGA scholarship fund
The CWGA Scholarship Fund for girls was established in 1977 following a generous endowment by Priscilla Maxwell Endicott. The scholarship fund is supported by membership contributions to the Connecticut Women's Golf Association and other individual donations. CWGA is committed to the support and success of the Scholarship Program and encourages its members to pledge their support.
A new scholarship fund was established in September of 2022 in Marion Hyde’s name. In 2024, a donation was made in Marion Hyde's honor which will allow CWGA to offer scholarships on an annual basis going forward in Marion Hyde's name.
These scholarships are awarded to girls either entering college, or currently enrolled college students, based on academic performance, participation in golf programs and financial need. These scholarships are for a maximum of four years at the college of the recipient's choice and will be awarded to any Connecticut girl regardless of race, color, creed or club affiliation. Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of participation in golf programs, academic performance and financial need. The CWGA Scholarship Committee conducts personal interviews with finalists.
The CWGA Scholarship Fund is affiliated with the Connecticut Women's Golf Association, but is an entirely separate and distinct operation. It is a 501(c)(3) federally tax-exempt organization as determined by the Internal Revenue Service. As such, gifting can be made directly through the use of Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs) from Required Minimum Distributions, therefore tax-free. Please consult with your tax advisor to ensure eligibility.
