Summer Special at Clinton Country Club - May 18, 2026

On May 18th the summer special was held at Clinton CC and finally some warm weather in the 70’s. There was much more than golf to appreciate on this shoreline course, multiple species of birds and life in the ponds like snapping turtles amongst the many lost balls. The highlight was a bald eagle nest in the trees on the 7th hole.

Opening Day Best Ball of Two at Bulls Bridge CC - May 12, 2026

On May 12th, the CWGA kicked off its 2026 season.  It was a cool spring day at Bulls Bridge in the Northwest corner of CT.  The scent of lilacs and spring flowers were carried by the mountain breezes.  Many thanks to the members, golf and restaurant staffs who put on a great day for us at a great course.

Club Rep Outing at TPC River Highlands - April 29, 2026

The Club rep event was held at TPC River Highlands on April 29th. We had lovely weather for late April and managed to dodge the spring showers.

Many thanks to Sue Doty who helped arrange many of the details. The TPC staff was very welcoming and helpful, head pro Ron Scheyd and especially the assistant Pro Alexandra Fox.

You could say it was the CWGA Travelers Championship as we witnessed much of the preparations and construction for the June 25-28 event. Yes! The umbrella was already on the pond and some of the players tried to land a shot on it. It also felt like our games are as much “under construction” as the course was because the rough is getting thicker and the tricky greens were faster as the day went on.
