2024 Tournament Results

Endicott Cup at Woods Hole CC, MA - October 8-10

The annual Endicott Competition was held at Woods Hole Golf Club in Massachusetts on Cape Cod, October 8-10. Many thanks to our team captains, Joyce Curran and Donna Harris.  

In this three day competition, the CWGA is pitted against Massachusetts and Rhode Island. The first 2 days are individual stroke play against the field competing for the coveted Endicott Cup. Those results are used to determine 2 teams for each state. An 8 person team gross (Tristate) and an 8 person net team (Eaton Cup) competes on the third day.

Congratulations to team CT who won this years Tri State Cup Gross team competition!

Closing Day Scramble and Awards at Highland GC - October 3

On October 3rd the 2024 CWGA closing day meeting and tournament was held at Highland Golf Club.

CWGA Championship  at The Farms CC - August 27-29

Congratulations to our 2024 CWGA Champions - 2024 Champion is Jean Sennett. She played a formidable match with Gia Watkins at The Farms CC this week to repossess the Championship Bowl. Congratulations to Joyce Curran, winner of the Founder's Cup Flight. She returned to win the semi-final match and fought to prevail over Ann Malone in the final round. Kudos to all the players in the 105th CWGA Championship. Thanks and appreciation to The Farms CCJim Hanlon (the most excellent pro to work with), and Barbara Berlepsch for organizing and hosting CWGA.

Best Ball of Two at Innis Arden - August 22

What a glorious day to be on the course and a true test of golf at Innis Arden CC!  The results are tallied.

CWGA Association Match Results at Timberlin - August 8

Congratulations to the SNEWGA Ladies who dominated the field last week in the "Association" matches with a win of 106 to 74 points. It is an annual event of SNEWGA players vs CWGA players, and it is always a good time. 

Medallion Tournament at Racebrook - August 6

It was an excellent day all around at Racebrook CC for the Medallion Tournament! Many thanks to all of the staff at Racebrook. The lunch was way beyond our normal “salad fare”. With our commendable pace of play the rain came down while we all were dining.  Congratulations to the winners, Jenny Mortell and from JoAnne Bentley of the TPC River Highlands.

Senior Junior Championship at Shuttle Meadow - July 30-31

It was a great two days at Shuttle Meadow CC for our annual Stroke Play Championship for the Seniors (55+), Legends (70+), and Juniors. The course was challenging, but several were able to slay it. 

Sincere thanks and appreciation to our volunteers, Brenda & Steve Basson, Lynn Lefler, Tom Peloquin, and Cindy Ahern. These folks gave us two days of fun and enjoyable tournament-style golf. Thank you to Shuttle Meadow CC, Ian, the Pro, Michelle, the banquet manager, and all the staff for providing us with support and sustenance.

Ringer Tournament at Litchfield - July 22

It was an excellent day all around at Litchfield CC for the Ringer Tournament! Many thanks to our host Louisa and Fran and all of the staff at LCC. The lunch was excellent. And it was a good thing, because we had some technical difficulties with the scoring. Thank you players for your patience:

Congratulations to the winners, they deserve more as it was a challenging course. We had a few ties that were broken by matching cards, last 6 "ringer" holes broke the tie. Chits to the LCC pro shop will be mailed to those not present.

Two Player Scramble at Redding - July 10

The hills of Redding brought on the heat for the CWGA 2 ball scramble.

Kudos to head professional Mike Argentine and his staff along with Tim Seifert the club manager for a wonderful day of golf with a tasteful luncheon. Another shout out to Sharon Nightingale, the event coordinator and Redding club rep. She is one of our many volunteers behind the scenes that make the CWGA organization feel seamless. 

The following members got to include shopping in the pro shop at the end of the day. Congratulations!

President's Cup at Tumble Brook - June 18

It was a Toasty Day at Tumble Brook! The results are in for this event where the overall champion receives "hardware".

Congratulations to all the winners and thank-you to all the Tumble Brook staff and our much beloved Toby Schuman for her assistance to make the event a special one.

Solheim Cup at Highfield Club - June 10

It was a beautiful summer day in Middlefield at the Highfield Club.The highlight of the day was the lunch coordinated by the event hostess and Highfield member Mel Larkin. Below is the evidence of her tasteful and clever decorating. The theme was golf, sports and games.

And for the 27 holes of competition, the Pink team managed to win each of the 9 hole matches for an overall win.

Summer Special at CC of Farmington - May 20

There was generosity in the air today at the Country Club of Farmington. In this variable ball four person format, the following teams walked away with the winning purse.

But the real winners were our PME scholarship recipients for whom funds were raised during the day. Almost $1000 was raised through online registration and skill contest fees. There was also an extremely generous donation in the amount of $10,000. All in the name of Marion Hyde, our own CWGA legend.

Club Rep Annual Golf Outing at Pine Orchard - May 15

It is time to thank your Club Rep.  Yesterday was the Club Rep Annual Golf outing and meeting at Pine Orchard Y&CC.  Sincere thanks to our hosts Jackie Cahill, Tim Shaw, Krissy Fucci and all the staff at Pine Orchard Y&CC who provided the perfect day to celebrate our Club Reps.

Two Ball Shamble at CC of Waterbury - May 7

It was a beautiful day to golf in CT at the CC of Waterbury.  Special thanks to our hosts, pro Brad and Rep Beth Ann for sharing the vast and challenging course.  Congratulations to all the winners!
